Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP)
Trivial File Transfer Protocol, known more commonly as TFTP is a protocol used on networks for the transferring of files, and it typically considered simpler to use than alternatives such as FTP, however due to it’s simplicity it is also less feature rich.
It is typically implemented when the authentication of users, and visibility of directory’s on the server are not required. A common use is network devices may use this to back up their configuration daily to a central administrative server.
