Technical Details

what runs on :7070

RealServer uses RTSP for session control, with client requests and server responses carried over a TCP connection; media may then use RTP and RTCP over negotiated UDP ports, or be interleaved in the RTSP TCP connection. RTSP messages use a text-based request/response format with headers and are not encrypted by default. Port 7070 is an alternate or vendor-default RTSP service port rather than the standard RTSP port 554.

security overview

Internet-exposed instances can reveal server and stream metadata and may permit unauthorized access to published media if authentication is absent or misconfigured. Legacy RealServer and Helix Server software should be patched or isolated, and the port should normally be restricted to known clients rather than exposed broadly.
