SUA is the SCCP User Adaptation layer defined for SIGTRAN. In normal deployments it runs over SCTP, using an SCTP association between signaling endpoints and exchanging SUA messages with a common header, routing context, and protocol-specific parameters; it supports signaling gateway and application server roles. The registry also lists TCP and UDP for port 14001, but these are not the usual transport for standardized SUA deployments. Related SIGTRAN services include M2UA on port 2904 and M3UA on port 2905.
