Snarl Network Protocol uses TCP and carries application messages over HTTP, using normal HTTP request/response framing rather than a separate binary transport handshake. The IANA assignment identifies TCP/8084 as the Snarl HTTP listener; deployments may use a different configured listener port. HTTP does not provide encryption by default, and the assignment does not specify a TLS variant.
