NetXMS uses its NXCP binary client/server protocol on the management-server endpoint. A client establishes a TCP session, negotiates protocol capabilities and security, authenticates, and exchanges framed command and data messages; the default management-server port is 4701. UDP is also assigned to the service, although ordinary console-to-server management traffic normally uses TCP. Port 4700 is commonly associated with the NetXMS agent, not the management server.
