OWAMP-Test is the UDP data-plane protocol from the One-Way Active Measurement Protocol suite. A control session, normally using OWAMP-Control over TCP 861, negotiates a test session; the test then exchanges formatted UDP packets containing sequence and timing information for one-way performance calculations. Authentication and encryption modes are supported by the protocol but are not inherent to every deployment, and implementations may use negotiated UDP ports in addition to the registered 861/udp service.
