Technical Details

what runs on :9200

WSP is a compact binary session-layer protocol in the WAP stack. Its connectionless service does not establish a persistent WSP session; instead, request and response transactions are exchanged as WSP protocol data units, normally over WDP and commonly UDP. Connection-oriented and secure WAP services use separate WAP stack services and port assignments, rather than changing the default behavior of port 9200.

security overview

WSP traffic is not encrypted by default, and this legacy connectionless service should not normally be exposed directly to the public Internet. An exposed listener may disclose legacy mobile-gateway behavior and could be subjected to malformed-packet or resource-exhaustion attacks; modern networks generally have little reason to accept it outside a controlled WAP environment.
