Technical Details

what runs on :3863

ASAP is an RSerPool control and session-management protocol used between pool users and pool elements. On TCP, the protocol runs after the normal TCP connection establishment and uses length-bearing protocol messages with structured parameters for operations such as endpoint registration, deregistration, and session handling. ASAP is also assigned over SCTP on the same port number; the protocol itself does not provide application-layer encryption by default.

security overview

This is an obscure infrastructure protocol and should not normally be exposed to the public Internet unless an RSerPool deployment requires it. An exposed listener can provide protocol attack surface and may disclose or alter server-pool state; use network filtering and compensating authentication or encryption where supported.
