Port 8000 TCP
A HTTP alternative port, commonly used for internet radio streams such as those using SHOUTcast
Commonly used for internet radio streams such as those using SHOUTcast, as an alternative for HTTP, which we suggest you check out for more information.
The standard HTTP port is TCP 80, and in some instance two applications on the same server/client may be using the HTTP protocol, however they are not able to bind and share the same standard port, therefore an administrator of the system will typically use an alternative but familiar port, such as this one.
It may also be used for some light security, where an interface is moved to a less common interface to try make it harder to find. However due to its common use, this is not very effective.
