Technical Details

what runs on :4352

PJLink uses port 4352 for projector communications; control commands are typically sent over TCP as ASCII text, with commands beginning with %1 for Class 1 or %2 for Class 2 and terminated by a carriage return. A TCP connection begins with a greeting indicating whether authentication is enabled; when enabled, the client uses a challenge and an MD5-based response. Commands and responses are not encrypted. PJLink implementations may also use UDP on 4352 for discovery, while routine command exchanges use TCP.

security overview

An exposed PJLink service can reveal projector status and permit control such as powering the unit on or off or changing its input. Authentication may be disabled, and enabled authentication uses an MD5 challenge-response rather than encryption, so keep projector control on a trusted management network and restrict access with firewall rules; it should not be exposed directly to the internet.
