Technical Details

what runs on :3529

JBoss uses TCP port 3529 as the IIOP-over-SSL socket binding for CORBA clients. A TLS handshake occurs before IIOP/GIOP messages are exchanged; the related plain IIOP port is commonly 3528. Although IANA lists both TCP and UDP, JBoss's IIOP/SSL service is used over TCP, not as a UDP listener.

security overview

TLS protects the connection in transit, but it does not by itself ensure that clients are authorized to invoke exposed CORBA objects; authentication and access controls depend on server configuration. Keep the port off the public internet unless remote CORBA access is required, and restrict permitted clients and exposed interfaces.
