Technical Details

what runs on :26133

SCSCP is an application-level remote procedure call protocol for symbolic computation. A client connects to a server over TCP, exchanges protocol/version information, and sends procedure calls and results as OpenMath objects, commonly using XML encoding; replies indicate completion or termination. Port 26133 is the registered service port. Although IANA lists TCP and UDP, deployed SCSCP is TCP-oriented; UDP support should not be assumed. The protocol does not provide encryption by default.

security overview

An exposed SCSCP server may let remote clients invoke computational procedures, potentially consuming substantial CPU or memory or reaching functionality the server makes available. Keep it behind trusted network boundaries and apply access controls and resource limits; use a secure tunnel or other protected transport if traffic crosses an untrusted network.
