Technical Details
what runs on :13400DoIP is specified by ISO 13400. On UDP 13400, a tester can broadcast vehicle-identification requests, including requests keyed by an entity ID or VIN; a DoIP entity can reply with a vehicle-identification response or send an announcement. Messages use the DoIP generic header (protocol version and inverse version, payload type, and payload length). Discovery is typically local-network traffic and does not itself carry diagnostic commands. DoIP diagnostic communication commonly uses TCP port 13400 after discovery, with routing activation before diagnostic messages are exchanged.
