NSClient Agent for Nagios
NSClient was originally designed as a monitoring agent and client for the well known and used network monitoring software Nagios. However, it has since evolved into its own project and monitoring agent which other software such as Opsview and OP5 are now using.
The program is a simple monitoring daemon, used to receive, collect and distribute metrics to network monitoring tools such as Nagios.
It can call external scripts, such as Python, Lua or .Net to query key performance indicators, and then pass this information to Nagios.
